On March 12, 2024, the 2nd Meeting of the Mobilising Agendas took place at Europarque, bringing together stakeholders to discuss the progress of the 53 Mobilising Agendas under Portugal’s Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), with a focus on their economic impact and benefits for the country.

Among the featured initiatives, the Route 25 project, led by Capgemini Engineering, stood out as a flagship consortium uniting companies, startups, and universities with the goal of strengthening the position of the Portuguese automotive industry. The consortium aims to elevate the sector to the top of the mobility value chain.

Backed by a €50 million investment, Route 25 is set to create over 1,000 new jobs over the next three years and generate more than €100 million in business volume. In addition, the initiative will support the development and launch of more than 50 new products, processes, and services. These efforts are expected to contribute significantly to an 85% reduction in CO2 emissions and a 30% drop in road accidents.

More specifically, Route 25 aspires to position Portugal as a global benchmark for safe autonomous driving, focusing on the development of sustainable transportation technologies aligned with the European CCAM Strategy—connected, cooperative, and automated mobility.

Participation in the event served not only to celebrate the milestones already achieved, but also to reaffirm the consortium’s collective commitment to driving forward innovation and technological advancement in the mobility sector.
