The transformation of mobility is grounded in three key elements: vehicle electrification, cooperative, connected, and automated mobility, and mobility-as-a-service models. When integrated, these components promise profound changes in both society and the economy.
This past July, the Route 25 project consortium gathered together with public entities and clients at the Fundação de Serralves in Porto for the event “Route 25: Evolution and Perspectives.” The gathering provided an opportunity to share the project’s progress and strengthen collaboration and cohesion among all involved stakeholders.
Over its three-year implementation period, the PRR Route 25 initiative aims to develop 47 Products, Processes, and Services (PPS) across four thematic areas: autonomous and assisted driving (AD/ADAS), digital experience and adaptive connectivity for cooperative mobility, vehicle-to-everything communication (V2X), and electric mobility. These will be tested in three large-scale living labs located in Porto, Ílhavo/Aveiro, and Fundão.
The Route 25 consortium has an ambitious vision: to position the Portuguese automotive industry at the top of the mobility value chain, establishing Portugal as a global reference in safe autonomous driving.
