On September 17, 2025, the Aveiro Exhibition Park hosted another session in the Route 25 Project’s cycle of demonstrations – an Agenda for Autonomous, Intelligent, Interoperable and Inclusive Mobility, funded by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).This event presented a holistic vision of smart mobility, bringing together technology, industry and academia to showcase solutions that will help transform cities.
Technologies in Focus
During the demonstration, participants were able to explore:
- Operation of autonomous vehicles in real-world environments, ensuring safety and efficiency
- Advanced communication technologies, including 5G connectivity
- Cooperative perception systems that enhance interaction between vehicles and infrastructure
- Smart parking solutions with real-time booking and monitoring
- Multimodal transport integration, promoting sustainable mobility
- Real-time visualization through augmented and virtual reality for greater transparency
- Migration of services to edge computing, ensuring low latency and high reliability
Institutional Presence and Partnerships
The event was attended by Ribau Esteves, Mayor of Aveiro, Councillor João Machado and CNA President Pedro Dominguinhos.
Several consortium partners also took part, including Capgemini Engineering, Instituto de Telecomunicações, Ubiwhere, Nexar, NOS, Vodafone, Vortex and the Municipality of Aveiro, reinforcing the collaboration between industry, academia and technology.
